So today has been the second day back on the allotment, thankfully again without pain in my back or legs. Surprisingly when I woke up this morning there was very little stiffness, just a gentle tired feeling. Unfortunately though today the 15 minutes was a lot harder and I didn’t get as much done as I did yesterday.
Looking around the rest of the site at the other plots I am both envious and disappointed. Envious because of the wonderful condition the other plots are in and disappointed that mine will not be up to that level for some time, certainly not this year and maybe not even next. However it has also given me something to aim for, I just have to remember that it can only be done in small steps, not the giant leaps I was used to doing before, i.e. digging over the whole plot in a day.
I do have one small goal to aim for and that is to have enough ground cleared of weeds and prepared to be able to sow some parsnips, and yes I know it is late but given the bad weather we have had recently, those that were sown at the correct time have still not really got going, although this last few days will have given them a bit of a kick start.
Right then time for a cold beer and to watch the end of the football.
Happy Gardening
